The voice on the gramophone offers this question following the accusations of murder made against each guest.

Lombard laughs as he offers this exclamation, made in response to Blore's assertion that he was only doing his duty when he delivered testimony that led to Landor's conviction.

3. "Be sure thy sin will find thee out." (p. 99)

Emily Brent makes this comment as she considers the possible guilt of Mrs. Rogers, following Rogers' death.

4. "If she had behaved like a decent modest young woman none of this would have happened." (p. 101)

Brent makes offers this assessment of Beatrice Taylor;s death.

5. "There are crimes that cannot be brought home to their perpetrators." (p. 104)

Philip Lombard makes this comment to Dr. Armstrong, as the two discuss the recent murders of Marston and Mrs. Rogers

6. "We're all waiting for the end." (p. 116)

General Macarthur offers this comment to Vera Claythorne, as he sits facing the sea, following the deaths of Marston and Mrs. Rogers.

7. "Yes. Of course, you're very young . . . you haven't got to that yet. But it does come! The blessed relief when you know that you've done with it all. That you haven't got to carry the burden any longer." (pp. 116-117)

General MacArthur makes this remark to Vera Claythorne as he sits facing the ocean, waiting for his own death.

The narrator delivers this comment when only five guests remain alive.
