Metaphor Analysis

Forest of Arden- Nature has always been a symbol of truth and purity.  Because it is the world in it's first and therefore purest form, nature in this Shakespeare play seems to be a shelter for those who want to remain pure and uncorrupted.  Duke Senior, though he was branded a traitor, seems to be the most honest of either Duke.  The rest of his court who remain uncorrupted also come with him, as do Orlando, Rosalind, and Celia.  All three characters seem to play the roles of good people.  When Oliver comes to the forest he too changes to a better, more honest person.  Lastly, when Duke Frederick comes to the edge of the forest he meets a priest, and he too reforms.
