Ferdinand is out working diligently for Prospero when Miranda, horrified at the treatment of him, comes to visit. She tells him to stop working and to rest. He refuses because he is in love with her, and wants to do the work for her sake. She is also in love with him, and after some conversation they both admit their feelings. They clasp hands and agree to get married. Prospero is watching them and is pleased that his plan for them to fall in love is working how he wanted it.
