Act 4, Scene 5: The Lord Lafew discusses Bertram's return with the Countess. The Countess had heard the news of Helena's death and was saddened by it. Lafew tells her that he has spoken to the King on Bertram's behalf, and convinced him that Bertram should marry Lafew's daughter. When both were children, the King had thought up this idea, and Lafew was bringing the idea back to life. The King said he would speak with Bertram about the marriage as soon as he returned.
