Summary
When Claude Frollo returns to the church he finds his brother Jehan waiting for him. Jehan claims that he regrets his libertine, hedonistic ways and has come to beg a little money in order to buy scholastic materials. Frollo tells him that he has no money to give and Jehan explains that he will be forced to turn Truand. Frollo allows him to leave but before Jehan reaches the door, Frollo appears and curses him and, throwing a purse of money against his brother's head, tells him that it will be the last money he shall receive.
